Johnstons 公司於1797年在蘇格蘭埃爾金創立。
使用喀什米爾和駱馬毛等高級材料，現存的格紋呢絨和粗花呢中，有許多是由該公司開發的。至今仍是英國少數擁有從原毛到紡紗、織布（機織）、針織一貫生產工廠的製造商。
