Johnstons 公司於1797年在蘇格蘭埃爾金創立。
該公司使用喀什米爾羊毛和駱馬毛等高級材料，現存的格紋和粗花呢中，有許多都是由該公司開發的。至今仍是英國少數擁有從原毛到紡紗、織造（機織）、針織等一貫生產工廠的製造商。
