Formed in 1973 in Akron, Ohio by Mark and Jerry, is a rock band.
They gained high recognition from their indie days with avant-garde performances, such as bringing a washing machine on stage.
They made their major debut in 1978 and released their debut album 'Q: Are We Not Men? A: We Are Devo!' the same year.
The following year, they released their second album 'Duty Now for the Future' and held their first concert in Japan.
Their performance at the Nippon Budokan was the first for a new wave artist and was broadcast on television for a week, creating a Devo whirlwind across Japan.
Since then, they have chosen Japan as the starting point for their world tours, gaining numerous enthusiastic fans domestically.
After releasing their eighth album in 1990, they went on hiatus, but in 2003, they held a concert in Japan for the first time in 23 years.
In 2010, they released their original album 'Something for Everybody' for the first time in about 20 years.
They continue to be a legendary artist actively performing to this day.
