ドレイクスは1977年、ロンドンのクラーケンウエルで創業されました。
創業者の一人であるMr.MichaelDrake（マイケルドレイク）氏はアクアスキュータムでデザイナーとして活躍、小物やアクセサリーなど、コート以外の企画を立ち上げたプランナーとしても知られています。
