Artist Profile
Daisuke Takaomi
Born in Chiba Prefecture in 1973.
Completed the research course at Tokyo Glass Art Institute in 2000.
Established "gla_gla" in Tsukiura, Toyako Town, Hokkaido in 2002.
Since then, he has engaged in a wide range of activities, including exhibitions and outdoor installations both in Japan and abroad, collaborations with architects, and providing works for corporate and video productions.
His distinctive style features colorless, transparent glass, meticulously crafted one by one using the "free-blowing" (chu-buki) technique, which involves shaping molten glass in mid-air without molds.
The narrative that emerges between the title and the glass itself is the core of his work.
