A rock band formed in 1973 in Akron, Ohio, by Mark Mothersbaugh and Jerry Casale.
They gained high recognition during their indie days with avant-garde performances, such as bringing washing machines onto the stage.
They made their major debut in 1978 and released their debut album 'Q: Are We Not Men? A: We Are Devo!' in the same year.
The following year, they released their second album 'Duty Now for the Future' and held their first concert in Japan.
The performance at the Nippon Budokan, the first for a New Wave artist, was broadcast on TV for a week, creating a DEVO frenzy throughout Japan.
They continued to gain numerous enthusiastic fans in Japan, often choosing Japan as the starting point for their world tours.
After releasing their eighth album in 1990, their activities went into hiatus, but they held a concert in Japan again in 2003 after a 23-year absence.
In 2010, they released their original album 'Something for Everybody' after approximately 20 years.
They are legendary artists who continue to be active today.
