Artist Profile
Daisuke Takaomi
Born in Chiba Prefecture in 1973.
Graduated from the Tokyo Glass Art Institute Research Course in 2000.
Established "gla_gla" in Tsukimiyama, Toyako-cho, Hokkaido in 2002.
Since then, he has engaged in a wide range of activities, including exhibitions and outdoor installations both domestically and internationally, collaborations with architects, and providing works for companies and video productions.
His distinctive feature is the colorless and transparent glass created one by one using the "chu-buki" (free-blowing) technique, which involves shaping molten glass in the air without using molds.
The narrative that emerges between the title and the glass is the core of his work.
