Artist Profile
Daisuke Takaomi
Born in Chiba Prefecture in 1973.
Completed the research course at Tokyo Glass Art Institute in 2000.
Established "gla_gla" in Tsukiura, Toyako Town, Hokkaido, in 2002.
Since then, he has continued a wide range of activities, including exhibitions and outdoor installations both in Japan and abroad, collaborations with architects, and providing works for corporate and video productions.
His characteristic colorless and transparent glass pieces are created one by one using the "chu-buki" (free-blowing) technique, where molten glass is shaped in the air without the use of molds.
The narrative that emerges between the title and the glass itself forms the core of his work.
