Artist Profile
Daisuke Takaomi
Born in Chiba Prefecture in 1973.
Graduated from the Tokyo Glass Art Institute's Advanced Course in 2000.
Established "gla_gla" in Tsukimuro, Toyako Town, Hokkaido in 2002.
Since then, he has engaged in a wide range of activities, including exhibitions and outdoor installations both domestically and internationally, collaborations with architects, and providing works for corporate and film projects.
His works are characterized by colorless, transparent glass, meticulously created one by one using the "chu-buki" (free-blowing) technique, which involves shaping molten glass in the air without molds.
The narrative that emerges between the title and the glass itself forms the core of his creations.
