JINSUI's Kyusu: Where Tradition Meets Modernity

This exquisite kyusu is crafted by JINSUI, based in Tokoname City, Aichi Prefecture. Inheriting the legacy of a kiln established during the Edo period, JINSUI blends traditional Tokoname ware techniques with designs seamlessly integrated into contemporary life.
The "TOKI" series features a distinctive design where the handle and spout are artfully crafted to resemble the second and minute hands of a clock. This design embodies the concept of "Toki Wasure" (forgetting time), a phrase used in the artisan world to express the deep desire to truly savor the moments spent enjoying tea.
It is suitable for a wide range of teas, including Japanese, Chinese, and herbal teas. With its ample capacity, it serves perfectly for both daily use and entertaining guests.
It can also be combined with a yuzamashi (cooling bowl) and yunomi (tea cups) to create a harmonized tea set.

Each piece is meticulously crafted by hand by artisans who have inherited the tradition of kyusu making, using authentic Tokoname clay. The finish, including the unique expression and texture of the glaze, develops a richer character with every use.
