A JINSUI Teapot: Where Tradition Meets Modernity

A Kyusu (teapot) by JINSUI, based in Tokoname City, Aichi Prefecture. Inheriting the legacy of a kiln established during the Edo period, it seamlessly blends the user-friendliness honed over centuries with a design that harmonizes beautifully with modern living spaces.
The 'TOKI' series features a unique design where the handle and spout are artfully crafted to resemble the second and minute hands of a clock. This symbolic design embodies the craftsman's concept of 'Toki-wasure'—'forgetting time'—as one savors a moment of tea. It is suitable not only for Japanese tea but also for Chinese tea and herbal teas. Its compact size makes it versatile for everyday use or entertaining guests. With its contemporary aesthetic, it seamlessly blends into any kitchen or dining space.

Each piece is meticulously handcrafted by artisans who have inherited the tradition of Tokoname teapot making, using local Tokoname clay. The finished product, including the unique expression and texture of the glaze, promises to deepen in character with every use.
