Artist Profile
Daisuke Takaomi
Born in Chiba Prefecture in 1973.
Graduated from the Tokyo Glass Art Institute Research Course in 2000.
Established "gla_gla" in Tsukiura, Toyako Town, Hokkaido in 2002.
Since then, Takaomi has engaged in a wide range of activities, including domestic and international exhibitions, outdoor installations, collaborations with architects, and providing works for corporate and video productions.
His distinctive colorless, transparent glass pieces are individually crafted using the "chubuki" (free-blowing) technique, which involves shaping molten glass in the air without the use of molds.
The narrative that unfolds between the title and the glass itself forms the very essence of his creations.
