"Rare metal means 'a small amount of existence in the crust.' My collage progresses by creating invisible layers, applying multiple layers until it reaches a completion that can be seen. The scenes I want to capture momentarily during that process become Eikoto's photographic works. It is like a situational photograph measured and taken during the excavation process, something that becomes buried and invisible, yet for me, it is a poignant image or part. I felt that the way that image exists connects to 'rare metal,' which is why I named the project as such."
