The company, IDEAL CLOTHING, believed to have originated the duffle coat, changed its name in 1987. The name "MONTGOMERY" was adopted because Field Marshal Montgomery, commander-in-chief of the Normandy landings, was a devoted wearer of duffle coats. With exceptional craftsmanship, they continue to produce high-quality products to this day.
