<HANASAKA> Soup Bowl M

A beautifully serene soup bowl, born from the unique character of its earth.

This soup bowl, approximately 19cm in diameter, is characterized by its unadorned, matte, and simple aesthetic. Diverging from the vibrant, painted designs of traditional Kutaniyaki, its design is meticulously crafted to accentuate the food itself. Its versatile size makes it ideal for soups and stews, as well as salads and simmered dishes. It effortlessly blends into any daily dining setting, whether Japanese or Western.

Both the body and glaze are made from Hanasaka Toseki. This material reuses clay and ceramic stones that are typically removed as impurities during the Kutaniyaki raw material production process, repurposing them as glaze ingredients. The soft, calming beige hue beautifully showcases the inherent character of the earth itself.

<HANASAKA>
HANASAKA is a pottery brand launched by Taniguchi Seidojo, a company that has traditionally produced the clay used for Kutaniyaki. Unlike the vibrant, painted styles exemplified by Kutani Gosai (Kutani's Five Colors), HANASAKA focuses on craftsmanship that highlights the earth itself. By revisiting the materials and processes that have supported Kutaniyaki, the brand proposes modern vessels that showcase the inherent texture and functional beauty of clay.
