Founded in the 1980s at Venice Beach, California, this skate BRAS brand began with Tony Alva, Jay Adams, and Stacy Peralta, who gathered at the surf shop ZEPYER and formed the Z-BOYS. The founder is Jim Muir, a member of the Z-BOYS and the brother of Mike Muir, the frontman of Suicidal Tendencies. The graphics are created by the legend Wes Hampson, known as Bulldog, who has produced numerous skate art pieces, including the iconic cross logo. BRAS The brand name is a colloquial term for a section of Venice that had become a ruin, serving as a hangout for delinquents and simultaneously being the center of West Coast youth culture, encompassing surfing, custom cars, graffiti, street gangs, and skating. This BRAS brand embodies the very spirit of Dogtown and continues to receive unwavering support as a symbol of West Coast old school.
