<Mino Ware> Hyozan Kiln Rice Bowl

Deepens in Character with Time
A Rice Bowl that Accompanies Your Daily Meals and Grows Dearer with Every Use

A rice bowl characterized by the unique uneven texture created by the shrinking of the glaze.
Through a technique known as 'sabi kairagi,' each piece possesses a unique pattern, and you can enjoy its changing character and texture as you continue to use it.
Its shape fits comfortably in the hand, making it ideal for everyday use.
Recommended for use not only as a rice bowl but also as a small serving bowl.
It blends naturally into any daily dining setting, whether Japanese or Western.

The 'kairagi' texture, which results from the glaze not fully melting and shrinking during firing, is adorned with 'sabi gosu' (rust cobalt) painting.
It is finished through many manual processes, including white slip application and sabi gosu coating.
Due to variations in clay type, glaze, and firing flame conditions, there are individual differences in color and expression.

<Mino Ware (Mino-yaki)>
Mino ware is known as one of Japan's three major pottery producing regions.
It is said that ash-glazed pottery (kaiyū tōki: pottery glazed with ash from plants) has been fired there since the Heian period.

<Hyozan Kiln (Hyozan-gama)>
Hyozan Kiln is an esteemed pottery studio with an anecdote telling of how its vessels were presented to Oda Nobunaga, who praised their craftsmanship.
Despite its long history, the appeal of its vessels lies not in being special items, but in being used continuously in daily life.
As everyday tableware, they are pieces whose character can be enjoyed as they age with time.
