This skate brand was founded in Venice Beach, California in the 1980s. It all began with Z-Boys, formed by Tony Alva, Jay Adams, and Stacy Peralta, who hung out at the surf shop Zepyer. The founder was Jim Muir, a member of Z-Boys and the older brother of Suicidal Tendencies frontman Mike Muir. The graphics were created by Wes Humpston, aka Bulldog, a legend who has produced numerous skate art pieces, including the iconic cross logo. The brand name comes from the nickname of an area of Venice that had fallen into ruin, and was a hangout for delinquents, as well as a center of West Coast youth culture, including surfing, custom cars, graffiti, streetwear, and skating. This brand was created by the skaters of Dogtown.TIE It is a symbol of the West Coast old school, and remains a symbol of the West Coast old school. LARGE It is gaining a lot of support.
