Unlike the vibrant overglaze paintings characteristic of Kutani ware, this design highlights the inherent presence of the clay itself.
Its versatile size makes it ideal as an individual serving plate, a side dish plate, or a dessert plate. It naturally blends into any everyday table setting, whether for Japanese or Western cuisine.

Both the body and the glaze are made using Hanasaka pottery stone.
The glaze is crafted by reusing pottery stone that would typically be removed as an impurity during the clay production process,
resulting in a soft, calming beige color.
This dedication to the unique qualities of the material is what gives HANASAKA its distinctive and appealing texture.

HANASAKA is a ceramics brand launched by Taniguchi Seidojo, a company that has traditionally produced the clay used for Kutani ware.
Unlike the vibrant overglaze decorations represented by Kutani Gosai (the five Kutani colors), HANASAKA's craftsmanship focuses on the clay itself.
By re-examining the materials and processes that have supported Kutani ware, the brand proposes contemporary vessels that highlight the natural expressions and functional beauty of the clay.
