The roots of Richard Ponvert Co., which develops Paraboot, trace back to 1908, when Rémy Richard-Ponvert opened a small shoe workshop in Izeaux, a town in eastern France where alpinists gathered. From that time, they actively produced shoes for mountain laborers. Later, they grew into a leading manufacturer of mountaineering boots. In 1927, they began importing high-quality natural latex shipped from the port of Pará in Brazil, starting in-house production of rubber soles. Simultaneously, using these soles and incorporating elements of mountaineering boots, they launched a brand of town shoes. Paraboot shoes, while designed for urban use, feature constructions, forms, and materials derived from mountaineering boots that can withstand harsh natural environments. They are comfortable, functional, and their timeless design ensures they are loved by people of all ages, unaffected by trends.
