a water glass whose expression emerges the more you gaze at it.

This glass blends seamlessly with cold barley tea or iced water, but its true individuality shines through when carbonated drinks are poured into it. The rising bubbles shimmer within the glass, catching the light and revealing ever-changing expressions. While seemingly simple at first glance, its form reveals subtle undulations and shadows the closer you look. The unique variations, born from each piece being handcrafted, add a quiet depth to the individual character of each glass.

Artist Profile: Daisuke Takaomi
Born in Chiba Prefecture in 1973.
Completed his studies at the Tokyo Glass Art Institute in 2000.
Established "<gla_gla>" in Tsukiura, Toyako Town, Hokkaido in 2002.
Since then, he has continued diverse activities including exhibitions and outdoor installations both domestically and internationally, collaborations with architects, and providing works for companies and video productions.
His work is characterized by clear, colorless glass, each piece created using the "free-blown" (chubuki) technique, where molten glass is shaped in the air without the use of molds. The narrative that emerges between the title and the glass itself is the core of his work.
